Result: Victory

Relying on Christ totally for deliverance from sexual sin will give a wonderful result: we will be God's children for eternity. If we are living by His Spirit instead of by our lusts, we won't be indulging our flesh and don't need to be anxious or ashamed anymore.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4 (NIV)

I sought the LORD, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed. Psalm 34:4-5 (ESV)

It's not likely to be easy, and it may come back to attack from time to time. You'll probably have to be careful for a very long time, and certainly repent properly again if you sin. But if we seek the Lord with repentance, obedience and perseverance, He will help us overcome it. Apply Bible teachings with humility and eagerness. Don't give up.

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1-3 (NASB^®)

Christians before you have won. Through God anything is possible, including rescue from slavery to lust.

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (ESV)
